THE ORIGINALS

In 1965 we saw the first three Mustangs hit our race circuits
and they carved up the fields.
Late in 1964 the first one arrived from the USA
Built into a race car, painted dark blue with white race stripes.
Known as the Neptune Racing Mustang.

Then came along the Ian Geoghegan's Mustangs in Total Team colours,
white with red & blue stripes
and Bob Jane's in Shell colours,
white with red and yellow stripes
SERIES PRODUCTION
As I recall, only one Mustangs raced in Australia in 1965 in the Series Production category.
John Peebles and Ross Edwards drove a 1965 V8 auto coupe at Sandown in September
and in the November 6 Hour race meeting.
